Hello, and welcome to our first week of Yoga + Breath Flow! I'm excited to meet and guide you through this 30-minute yoga class. But first, a question for you.....
What does it mean to you to be strong?
There are layers and nuances of the word. You may know you are strong in many ways. Yet it is in the moments when you are pressed, challenged, and unexpected situations arise that your true physical and mental fortitude is revealed.
When we feel the structure and frameworks of our bodies or minds unsteady and under pressure, it is uncomfortable and scary. It can feel like a breakdown.
Through another lens, it can be a rare moment of possibility.
An engineer calls it the yield point, the moment when a material begins to fail. It's the most valuable information as she loops back to redesign.
At these moments of breakdown, what will you do?
Physical and mental strength and resilience
are intertwined like the finest braid.
Each supports the others.
Our mindset and our muscles.
The third strand that weaves it all together is the breath.
Yoga is a practice of resilience for breath, mind, and body. It is a choice to use those moments of possibility as the space to plant seeds for a future harvest of new strength.
Join me today to get grounded, find your breath, and take your next step toward strength and resilience. Bring a chair (we'll use it for some of the postures) and wear clothes you're comfortable moving in. I look forward to meeting you at 2:30pm!
