Or perhaps you like to dance in your bare feet? Either way, I hope you're ready to move this week and build some brainpower as well as explore what's known as collective effervescence.
Collective effervescence is a term coined by sociologist Émile Durkheim. It describes the sense of energy people feel when they come together in a group around a shared purpose. As this fantastic video states, dance is a great accelerator of collective effervescence.
While we may not be able to dance in a room together this week (and let's be honest, you might not dance as freely in a group of people as you would by yourself!) we can meet in our Zoom dance room and practice moving together to some good tunes.
Start your week off right and give yourself 30 minutes to move, breathe, and dance in a way that brings energy and joy into your day. I look forward to seeing you at 9:30am EDT!
