Joy is a state of feeling something beyond fleeing happiness; it is more enduring and profound. It is a life of purpose.
When addressing burnout within the health care profession, the IHI developed tools to help realign professionals with their original desire of helping people in order to improve joy at work.
and having a sense of purpose and meaning for your life
are directly related to your experience of joy.
In this week’s practice, you’ll have the time to write down what matters to you. You won’t have to share this. It’s just for you, and it may change immediately after you leave the zoom room. That’s ok! This is an evolving inquiry with no right or wrong answers and a first step on the path toward more joy.
Here's the "what matters" worksheet. If you can print it out and bring it to the session, great! If not, bring a blank sheet of paper and something to write with.
I look forward to seeing you at 2:00pm EST today!
