Much of the time, we seem completely preoccupied with the appearance of our body while at the same time, we are totally out of touch with it. We wish it to look a certain way but take for granted the astounding number of complex functions it consistently performs, ignoring the miraculous felt sense available to us at all times.
Gratitude practice addresses this by literally flipping the script on some of our most common negative messages about our bodies. By pausing to appreciate the body, we become more familiar with the feelings of gratitude and thankfulness when they appear.
