If gratitude is a universal human characteristic, why do we need to practice being grateful?
Some people seem really appreciative of everything in their lives, while others seem to take the good stuff for granted. It’s not because some of us are better people.
Gratitude isn’t something you’re born with – although the capacity to be grateful is within each of us. You might have the potential to be very good at math or music or mentoring, but if you don’t train and practice those abilities, they won’t get you very far.
Gratitude practice reinforces positive emotions that so often go unnoticed while also changing your brain to become more receptive and sensitive to experiences of appreciation and thankfulness. Getting into the gratitude habit is self-perpetuating – the practice leaves you feeling good and, well. . . grateful.
Join me at 12:30pm today to learn more about practicing gratitude. I will guide you in a short meditation on the blessings of your life, and together we will change our brains a little.
