What does it mean to live "in the present moment"? One might say, "well I'm here right now, isn't that the same thing"? Yes, and no.
If you pause and just observe where your thoughts go from minute to minute, you're likely to notice that your thoughts are either in the past or the future. Accompanying many of these thoughts are the bodily sensations of feelings, moods, and emotions and these can fill our present moment.
This tendency of the mind to get distracted, wander and ruminate is so common that neuroscientists have dubbed it the human brain's default mode.
Fortunately, we all have the built-in ability to bring our thoughts and senses, our minds and bodies, into the here and now.
Join me today and I will guide you in a Wholebeing practice called "Ocean Breath" followed by a mindfulness meditation practice of present-moment awareness. I look forward to seeing you at 12:30pm EDT!
