Providing your body with the essential nutrients that it needs can be a great source of support in building physical resilience. Chronic stress places a higher demand on your body, which can deplete you of certain vitamins and minerals over time.
 
Furthermore, while you're stressed out, you might not feel like you have the time or bandwidth to research, prep, or cook meals that incorporate all the macro and micro-nutrients your body needs.
 
Enter the superhero meal: a smoothie! These don't take very long to create and the possibilities are endless so you can enjoy a variety of different smoothie meals. This month, follow our guide to create your own smoothie and let us know what your favorite one is!
 
Create-Your-Own Smoothie
serves 1
    Step 1: Pick a liquid (4-8 oz)
    • water
    • milk
    • hemp milk
    • oat milk
    • almond milk

    Step 2: Add protein powder (25-50g)

    • whey protein
    • rice protein
    • pea protein
    • hemp protein
    Step 3: Pick a veggie (1-2 handfuls)
    • spinach/chard/kale
    • beets
    • cucumber/celery
    • pumpkin
    Smoothie elements
    Step 4: Pick a fruit (1-2 handfuls)
    • bananas
    • dates
    • cherries/berries
    • pineapple
    • apples
    Step 5: Add a healthy fat (1-2 thumb-sized portions)
    • nuts (walnuts/cashews)
    • nut butter (almond/peanut)
    • flax/hemp/chia seeds
    Step 6: Optional toppers 
    • shredded coconut
    • yogurt
    • oats/granola
    • cinnamon or cardamom
