February Recipe (Rest)
    Did your grandmother ever tell you to drink a glass of warm milk before bed? Have you ever tried it, or wondered if it's just an old wives tale? Research shows that it just may help improve the quality of your sleep!
     
    This perfect combination of milk, a healthy fat, and spices packs a healthy punch that supports your entire system, and not just in getting better rest. 
     
    The spice highlighted in this Golden Milk (and what gives it that golden hue!) is turmeric. Turmeric is hailed for its anti-inflammatory benefits and the ghee or coconut oil makes it more bioavailable for your body.
     
    We love this recipe after a long and exhausting day. It only takes 5 minutes to make, then you have time to cozy up with a good book, pet, or partner and savor some time for restoration. 

    Nighty-Night Golden Milk 

    serves 1

      Ingredients
      • 1/2 tsp. ghee or coconut oil
      • 1 – 2 tsp. turmeric
      • 1/4 tsp. cardamom
      • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
      • pinch of nutmeg
      • 1 cup whole milk (you can replace with oat, soy, or hazelnut milk)
      • 1 date (optional, to add sweetness)

      Directions 
      1. Put the ghee or coconut oil in a small saucepan and heat on low with the spices.
      2. Once you begin to smell the aroma, add the milk and whisk until hot.
      3. Pour in a blender and add the date, if using.
      4. Blend on high for about a minute for a frothy-hot drink!
